Question: Ive had an endoscopy, due to chest pain I thought was my heart which is okay, so next I wanted and colonoscopy and above. In the test even tho the Dr. said he s not to worried about it I had a reddened esphogaus. I also have a Cough for years, which has been diagnosed as an allergy cough. Now Ive heard that cough and chest pain could be esopgaus cancer. He got a bio. Im scared it was last Wed. he took the test, I was told to come in for the followup on the 20th or the 23rd of the month. Does this sound like this kind of cancer

Brief Answer:
This does not appear to be cancer

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thanks for putting your query in HCM

I can understand your concerns

This does not appear to be cancer because:
1. Your doctor said that oesophagus was red that means it is inflammed which may be due to reflux also
2. On endoscopy there is no growth
3. You dont have vomitting or dysphagia that is difficulty in swallowing which is a common symptoms in patients with oesophageal cancer

Biopsy was taken to see the cause for the inflammed mucosa. It can be due to reflux oesophagitis, drug induced or due to some infection etc.

So keep COOL and wait for the report of biopsy

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you. If you have any further query I will be happy to answer that too. Remain in touch and get-well soon.
