Suggest Treatment For Chronic Bronchial Cough And Cold

default
Posted on Wed, 6 May 2015
Question: Good Afternoon Dr Koregol. I've had a bad chronic bronchial cough & cold for one week. While working, I was getting mild pains and strains in my chest, heart area. It might be gas--what I think it is. If left without a Dr's visit with prescription meds--Is there any chance it might damage or cause damage to my heart area? Please respond.

I'm sorry I got your name wrong--Please accept my apologies. I"m in a hurry at work. Do you reccommend me to get in touch with a cardiologist I trust at my sister's hospital? Yesterday, I gave a blood and urine sample at a lab. What should of test results should I be looking for? It couldn't of been good results. Thank you for your help and your time.

Should I explain to my family doctor that there is a history of heart trouble in my immediate family. My mom survived a stroke and my younger brother died of a massive heart attach in May 3, 2013. That's why I'm so concerned. OK.

Brief answer.....you may consult a cardiologist to get mental peace
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
Your coughing is not going to cause any damage to heart muscles.
Prima facie your chest aches and pains appear to be due to chest muscles strain caused by persistent cough and cold.
Although these chest pains don't appear to be cardiac in nature but it is always better to get the doubts removed especially when there is strong family history of heart problems and you can tell your doctor about it.
Your lab results are not going to reveal anything of any significance.
Consult a cardiologist and get the doubts removed.
For your cough and cold ,best is to ...
Steam inhalation twice a day
Drinking hot liquids
Avoiding cold drinks
Using nasal decongestants if nose is blocked.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
