Posted on Wed, 3 Sep 2014
Question: I have a couple, bumps that look like a pimple or blister they arent connected but they are all around each other. They dont hurt itch or give me any pain and ive had them for about two weeks i started as one and now there are about 4 i havent shaved in a while and havent had sexual intercourse for about 5 months. Just afraid it might be a std. I popped one and blood came out with a little clear liquid with what looked like a tiny white ball maybe like skin or something

Brief Answer:
Superficial skin infection or warts

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I understand your concern regarding your skin problem and I hope I am able to help you in the same.
I have seen the attached pictures.

First of all, I would like to say that the picture quality is not that great. It would be great if you can click some close up good resolution images of the affected area and upload them here on this page.

From what I can make out, I don't really suspect herpes in your face since lesions of herpes are closely placed and are associated with severe pain.
They look like either a superficial bacterial infection or they can be lesions of molluscum contagiosum.
Now to differentiate between the two, I need good quality pictures.

If that is not possible, I would advise you to start application of a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the affected area twice a day for five days.
Superficial bacterial infection should respond to it.

If however it does not respond or tends to increase, then you might have to see a local dermatologist so as to look for possibility of viral infection.

Also avoid shaving the area till the time the lesions heal.

Hope it helps

My camera isnt very high definition quality. But i ended up doing what i probably should have and popped them, they all looked like the last picture and all bled with a tiny speck of white. Im a very clean person but i did just come to oki japan where it is hot and humid but i shower three times a day. Should i go try and see a doctor as soon as possible or do you think its something that i can treat on my own?

Brief Answer:
Apply antibiotics, let the lesions heal

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Since you have already popped up the lesions, the best thing to do now is to maintain proper local hygiene.
Wash the affected area twice a day with lukewarm saline water.
Apply a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin or mupirocin over the affected area twice a day.
Do not apply any other cream or oil over it.
Wear cotton undergarments.
Since the normal appearance of the lesions has been altered, so I don't think there is any need to see a local dermatologist right away.
You can follow the treatment as advised and then see a local dermatologist in case there is any problem like excessive pain or eruption of new lesions or bleeding.
In case the lesions heal soon on their own with the topical antibiotic only, then you need not worry.
