Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Beta thalassemia minor trait will cause decreased hemoglobin levels in the mother, so your wife should take folic acid tablet regularly along with high protein diet to promote the hemoglobin synthesis.
Iron supplementation is not helpful in this condition.
Blood transfusion is advised once the hemoglobin levels are less than 7 gm.
The baby will not be affected as the father is not a thalassemia minor trait.
The baby has a 50% chance of acquiring beta thalassemia minor trait, which is not an emergency situation and will cause only slightly low Hb levels later in life.
There is nothing to worry.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
