Question: Hi. My daughter was kicked in the head at cheer practice last night and it left her with a bald spot about the size of a quarter on the front of her head. What can we do to help the hair grow back quickly. She's really upset about it and is afraid kids at school will make fun of her.

Brief Answer:
Alopecia areata, topical steroid, intralesional steroid

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints and your daughter seems to be having alopecia areata.
I would recommend you to apply a topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily for 2-3 weeks.
Another effective option is to consult a doctor and go for intralesional steroid injections in the bald patch after an interval of 3-4 weeks for 3-4 sessions.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
