Brief Answer:
It seems to be Irritable bowel syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for using HealthcareMagic!

I read carefully your query and understand your concerns.
This pain on the left side of your abdomen most likely is related with constipation.
Abdominal pain ,alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea, feeling that a bowel movement is incomplete are indicative for Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).

There is no specific test to diagnose this condition. It is a clinical diagnose and the diagnosis is often a process of ruling out other conditions.
You may need to do an colonoscopy to exclude other pathological causes for your symptoms.
In IBS the colonoscopy is clear.
Stress and anxiety plays a significant role in this condition.
The treatment consist in managing the symptoms :
-You should try to manage your stress (if you have a stressful life)
-Eat foods rich in fiber (mostly green vegetables)
-Drink plenty of fluids
-Exercise regularly ,every day at least 45 min.
-If you have constipation you can use laxatives including Metamucil etc or anti-diarrheal medications if you have diarrhea.

I suggest to consult a physician and get examined.Discuss with your doctor the possibility to do an colonoscopy to exclude other conditions.

Hope it was of help.
Let me know if you have any other question or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind Regards!
