Suggest Treatment For CFS With Headaches, Pressure In Hip And Thigh

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: I've been taking 150g SR Tramadol for 12 years for chronic pain and headaches. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I get pressure pain, hip and thigh when lying down too. I don't think Tramadol is helping as much any more and want to stop taking Tramadol. What tapering off schedule should I use? Take any other drugs for pain while/after tapering off? I don't want to be taking opiates any more. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
I think you should take paracetamol.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that it will be difficult to taper off tramadol but yes you should definitely try for the same . You should take paracetamol 650 mg as it is quite safe until and unless you have contraindication for using it . You should also ask your treating doctor regarding introducing amitryptylline to your drug regimen as it is quite helpful in patient with CFS .Any other query feel free to ask.

Take care.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX ,

Thank you for reverting back.

Well from your history I realise you take 1 tablet daily , so you can go for half tablet once daily for 15 days then , half tablet alternate day for 15 days and then you can stop . I cant see the other history that you have provided as its not posted probably , so in case you want to ask anything you will have to write if again.
