Suggest Treatment For Bateman's Purpura On Arms And Psoriasis

Question: I have Batemans Purpura on my arms perhaps connected with psoriasis I have, Is there a cure for the skin bruising I am experiencing?

Also 2 photos of arm spots which ironically have decreased dramatically over the past month.

I have enclosed two pictures
One with arms crossed shows the bruising spots as they have been for the past six months. They are fairly large and last for about a month and gradually decrease in size and disappear. By that time other spots have developed.
The photo 'FullSizeReder' was taken this past week and as you see the only spots now left are quite small. Fortunately no other spots have developed at this time.

Hope you had a great weekend are safe,

I am sorry for the delay in my response I had some connectivity issues and wanted to take time to review all your tests and come up with a better set of suggestions.

Thanks for uploading your detailed labs and picture of your skin condition.

You labs are almost perfect there s no evident cause of purpura according to them.

From blood counts to your hormones, vitamins and minerals every thing is in perfect range,

Now according to your history , your labs , your age and the way it looks , according to my opinion it is indeed Bateman's purpura.

I know that a person like you must have educated yourself well about this problem but still i will give you a summary of it.

It actually happens in later part of life above 60's mostly due to weakness of blood vessels.

Every part of our body loses its strength with age same is the case with blood vessels , they lose strength and then when a trauma, even a minor one is there, it causes vessels under skin to break and this causes spillage of blood under skin which causes this area to get pigmented, we call purpura.

Like many other age related problems , this too is hard to treat, but some measures can be taken to make this condition less torublesome.

1)Leave alcohol

2) Leave blood thinners (which you already have done)

3) Leave Steroids.

4) Vitamin C and Vitamin E help in strengthening the connective tissue in arteries and skin.

5) Limiting skin exposure to sunlight..

There are several special cosmetics, such as Dermablend and Covermark, that are specifically designed to hide skin blemishes. Another helpful treatment is the use of Vitamin K cream, which has shown a remarkable ability to reduce the appearance of age related marks. Also, alpha hydroxyacid lotions can be used to stimulate natural collagen growth and thicken the skin, reducing the tendency to bruise heavily.

Perhaps the most exciting development in the area of treatment is a recent study that showed the use of a medication known as Purpurex can not only reduce the appearance of existing Bateman's Purpura but also significantly slow the development of others in the future. So if you are dealing with these unpleasant effects of aging, there is room for hope.

END NOTE:

Here i would like to mention that except cosmetic concerns there is no medical necessity to try to cure this purpura, this is not dangerous for life and do not cause any health concerns but still above mentioned methods can be tried.

Success rate is un predictable but mostly the situation gets better if not cured completely.
