Suggest Tests For Accurate Ejection Fraction

Question: I have Congestive Heart Failure. My cardio had me take two tests to assess my Ef towarad the end of getting a defibrillator. The tests were a Mugascan and a Electrocardiogram. They came up with widely divergent estimates...the muga put me lower than an Ef of 30, while the cardiogram was well above 30. Which is the more definitive test? My cardiologist wants me to have a defib installed (his electrophyiologist agrees). A second opinion said the cardiogram is preferred, and based on that, I don't need a defib. What is your opinion?

The ejection fraction calculated by the MUGA scan is influenced by various factors and may not correlate to the existing condition. Whereas, echocardiogram is more of a physical measurement of the ejection fraction. I would consider it being more reliable. I recommend there is no need for intervention right now as Cardiogram shows a better EF. Do get repeated for a better understanding and to ascertain the same. Wish you good health. Regards,
