Brief Answer:
You can use triphasic pills or progesterone only for 10 days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The best way to regularize your periods is to use a birth control pill. Since you are overweight you can use triphasic pills that have a lower dose of estrogen and thus lesser chances of having a blood clot. Other then that you can take progesterone only for last 10 days of your cycle every month. It will help in delaying your next period by a few days and will also have lesser chances of DVT.
Otherwise you can opt for cenchroman that causes delayed periods with a minimal bleeding. Do discuss all these options with your gynecologist and choose an option best for you.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
Metformin will not help.

Detailed Answer:
Metformin alone will not help to regulate the periods. Progesterone alone is rarely associated with increased chances of DVT.

Hi, I have been on The pill (levest) for about a month now and have noticed a lot of changes and I m not sure if it s because of the pill. I keep having extreme mood swings and snapping at my family, I have a few headaches and the other day it was one of the non pill days I felt really dizzy and nauseous and weak. My energy is really low all the time to the point where I can just lay in bed for hours or even on my floor cause I just can t be bothers with anything. And in the past 2 weeks I have felt extremely depressed to the point where I randomly cry at things and get really upset and unhappy with my life even though i don t have any huge problems? I also get really paranoid and look too much into what people are saying to me. Also have been bleeding the whole time. Is this due to the pill and should I switch /come off it? Thanks!
