Brief Answer:
TMJ

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It sounds like you temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. Pain can radiate from your TMJ down the muscles of your neck causing pain above the collar bone.
If you are able to take ibuprofen (if you are not sure then ask your doctor), then take that 2-3 times a day for a week along with frequent warm moist compresses to the joint and neck area.
For the compresses use hot water on a wash cloth or small towel and hold it to your neck area as frequently as you can but at least 4-5 times a day.
After you do the warm compresses do some jaw stretches opening the mouth and moving the lower jaw side to side while the muscles are warmed up from the compress. Do this at least 3 times a day.
If the pain does not resolve see your doctor for an exam and possible xrays.
Regards,
Dr. Robinson
