Suggest Remedy For Pain In Breast And Armpits After A Fall
Question: Hi. I fell hard, hit the top of my left shoulder while I was folded in on myself to soften the blow, and finally landed on my back while running one week ago today. Exactly 72 hours after I fell, I had a large bruise on the outside of my left breast and three knots that developed under my left armpit. The way I fell, it feels like I crushed my chest...I've had a little problem taking a deep breath, but not every time I breathe. I'm still feeling a lot of pain in my left breast, below my armpit and in the armpit knots. It seems like everything I read points to "seroma." What are your thoughts and what can I do about it?
Brief Answer:
It can be rib fractures also
Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have studied your case. I think you might have developed rib fracture and that may be causing accumulation of blood under skin. I would recommend you to get chest x ray to confirm the diagnosis. If there is fracture then it will take some time in healing. You need to take rest and hot water fomentation.
Apply volitran ointment and take Brufen tablet for pain relief. I hope these steps will be helpful for you. let me know if there is any other followup questions. thanks

Dear Dr. XXXXXXX
Thank you for your fast and thoughtful diagnosis. I'm going to a different doctor this afternoon and will request an x-ray. Just to be sure I understand what you said, do you think the knots are blood formation in my lymph area? That's what it feels like, but I don't know anatomy like you do. Also, I looked up Volitran ointment and it appears to be available here only by prescription. I will ask the doctor to prescribe it, but is there something else I can use? Can I use Arnica or is there something else you would recommend that is commonly available?
Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You can use iodex
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
thanks for reply. X ray will be helpful for you. If you do not get volitran ointment then you can use Iodex or move. Arnica is not good. Hot water fomentation is effective. If your doctor feels it is lymph and not blood then it can be aspirated through needle but I think more chances of blood collection.
Thanks
