Brief Answer:
Twitching is not a characteristic sign of costochondiritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Costochondritis is a condition which causes very characteristic sharp pain. Such pain is much more intense when the chest is moving (breathing) and can disappear when you stop breathing for a while. It is usually well localized pain. Can radiate along the rib to the back.

Twitching is not a characteristic sign of costochondritis. Twitching can appear in case of heart arrhythmia (can be felt more in the throat, somewhere deep in the chest) or due to asthma (twitching appears along with kind of itching in the chest).

And one more thing. Costochondritis pain (even if somehow it is twitching), greatly decreases after painkiller especially Diclophenac.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

My twitching is not by throat its more upper chest and they feel not deep in chest. My bicep would sometimes twitch.

I do have pain when touched in chest.
My doctor has given me Voltrol Eurgel to rub on chest.
Is twitching a heart issue?

Brief Answer:
Muscle twitching.

Detailed Answer:
Than its more muscle twitching than costochondritis. Have you tried Magnesium and Potassium supplementation? Lack of this ions can cause such twitching. Chest rubbing is not effective treatment. You should rather get antiinflammatory tablets.

Twitching can be a sign of heart arrhythmia.

Brief Answer:
ECG may not detect arrhythmia.

Detailed Answer:
As heart arrhythmia usually comes and goes, can be invisible in regular heart ECG. To detect it the test called 24 hours Holters heart monitoring is necessary.
