Question: Hello Dr. Rynne. I have been experiencing irregular bowel movements, blood in my stool, and my last bowel movement was a pale white/yellow color. I have been experiencing constipation one day then the next day no constipation for about 2 weeks now. One day I had stomach cramping along with the need to pass stool, and when I went there was a lot of blood in the toilet and when I wiped. That lasted for about 3 days. In the last 5 hours I have went poop twice, the first one was normal, the second one was pale. I have experienced minor chest pains, and lower right pain in my kidney area.

Brief Answer:
You need complete work up .

Detailed Answer:
Dear ,.
I can understand your concern .
Based on information and your age that you have given the most common cause seems to be ulcerative colitis . This is one of inflammatory bowel disease in which ulcers are formed mainly in descending colon and rectal areas and patients present with altered bowel habits and fresh bleeding per rectum.
Besides that, some gastrointestinal infection and few other local causes as well such as hemorrhoids could be the related. To confirm the diagnosis complete history and physical examination is needed .

In my opinion you should consult your physician, as any delay can cause more blood loss. I would order for local examination with help of proctoscopy or proctosigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy to arrive the the diagnosis. Discuss about the tests when you visit the doctor.

Hope this will help you .
If you have any other concerns please feel free to message me .
