Question: Hi, nurse just called me and told me that my liver and cholesterol was high. Wanting me to stop all nsaids . I have a previous diagnosis of lupus and fibro and vita d deficiency as well as hypothyroidism. I was recently put of vibryd, coming off of ellexor. I believe its the viibryd, no issues before and it makes me vomit and diareah. No other test results were discussed with me, so I have no idea if vita d or thyroid under control. What do you think?. This all can from the nurse not the dralso said to do a liver ultrasound

I have also already had hep c panel done, it was negative

Brief Answer:
??Suspecting aggravated lupus to be the cause here ma'am

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. I doubt this could all be from the vibryd ma'am, as this medication rarely ever causes any trouble to the liver and its functioning. Your other medications like flexeril, vita D supplement, thyroid medications or milk thistle turmeric should not cause any irritation to the liver or its functioning.

I somehow suspect lupus to be the cause for the changes in liver health and functioning. I would completely concur with the nurses suggestion of avoiding all NSAIDS and may be even flexeril for a while. As we are all currently only suspecting the cause for the changes and pondering over it, you could suggest a check on your lupus status to your doctor as lupus is a systemic condition that can affect multiple organs, including the liver.

I hope you find my response both helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.
