Brief Answer:
need some more details.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Sorry to hear about your child. Please accept my condolences.

I can understand your concerns about your wife.

Loss of child is a serious stressor and can indeed cause depression in parents.

You have mentioned that your wife had some mental health issues in past. In such cases, people are susceptible for nervous breakdown when they face emotional stress. This might be the case with your wife.

Feeling of being attacked by a soul can be either a symptom of psychotic disorder or a depressive disorder, the precipitating factor being death of child.

If you can answer the following queries, i would be able to guide you better:
1.Time Duration since when she is having this feeling? Her age?
2. Any other symptoms like hearing unusual voices, fearfulness, disturbed sleep and appetite, suspiciousness, irrelevant talks or any other symptoms or behavioral changes which you have noticed in her?
3. Past and current drug treatment? Response to treatment?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your response,
My Wife (Sharda) had two miscarriages in past in 2nd month of pregnancy.
She is 31 and feeling haunted from September-2014 (during pregnancy), and we have lost our child in December, and till the last week she did not said anything regarding the haunting, it is from the last week she is regularly feeling this. Daily mostly around 06:00 PM she feels Short breathlessness, when the soul is inside her, she does not remember us, and don't let us hold her hands also as per her the soul's name is XXXXXXX who had committed suicide, and that someone has sent the soul to create problems, she (Ankita) even said that she killed her baby. Yesterday she (Ankita) was asking me not to leave her as she committed suicide because her boyfriend left her, from since some man with black clothes is keeping her soul. we do not have any connection with any girl named XXXXXXX neither I have heard this name from my wife.

My Wife is Diabetic and from September onward (during 6th month of pregnancy), she is having Hypertension issues, as per doctors, Hypertension issues is due to Swelling in one of her Kidney.

During Pregnancy she was taking Lobit 100MG BD, Nicardia 20mg BD, Human Mixtard 24 in the morning and 12 in the night.

Currently: she is taking only Insulin 15 in the morning and 10 in the nigh and other multivitamin, her BP is normal but after soul is left her body her pulse rate is 140 and BP is 180/120 and she gets fever.

Sir, this is all i can tell, please suggest, my in laws also believe in haunting and are also consulting pundits regarding the issue, but so far nothing positive happened.

Brief Answer:
A psychiatric consultation is must for her.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.
I can understand your concerns for your wife.
I have read your details and have understood it.

From your description, it appears obvious that your wife (and whole family) has suffered serious stressors of miscarriages in past.

Now the main problem is the soul called XXXXXXX This phenomenon in which a person is possessed by a soul and behaves in a different than normal way is called as dissociative disorder.
The cause may be the underlying stressor.

Another important point to note is that she did not tell about this haunting to anyone.
This suggests that there is a possibility of underlying psychosis or depression.
I say so because, the cases of pure dissociative disorder usually tend to blurt out frequently and are attention seeking. They usually tend to be over-expressive which i think is not the case with your wife.

I would highly recommend you to take her to psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and proper management.

A general physician will take care of her diabetes and blood pressure.

Visiting faith-healers(pundits) is not the correct approach. I fear this might cause a delay in her proper medical treatment.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further. You can also ask a direct query, if you wish, at your convenience.

I wish for speedy recovery of your wife.

Kindly close the discussion if you have no more queries and give your valuable feedback.

Thanks.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your response and time, sir as per the above details she does have the dissociative disorder, because she is always seeking attention from her family and me as well even in normal conditions and she is over expressive, even a small pimple becomes a very big thing i thought it was normal behavior.

I will try to consult psychiatrist in our city for further treatment, but since i cannot take her to the doctors at present if you can please suggest anything to reduce the problem.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Do not pay attention to her behavior.

Detailed Answer:
Dear,

I am happy that my suggestions could help you to find some clues about her problems.

The best management of persons with dissociative disorder is to not pay attention to their behavior and demands.
The good thing about dissociative disorder people is that they neither harm themselves nor others.

Do not be sympathetic towards her for her irrational demands or behavior. Also at the same time, NEVER be rude. This will gradually reduce her behavior.

For control of highly agitated behavior, drugs like klonopin, ativan (prescription drugs) are given.
If needed, the psychiatrist would also prescribe antidepressants like escitalopram or sertraline.

Hope this helps.

I wish for speedy recovery of your wife.

Kindly give your feedback and close the discussion if you have no more queries.
If you wish, you can also ask direct query at your convenience.

Thanks.
