Question: Hi, I've had the implanon implant since 3/12/1013 and never had any issues. For the past week I've had a very dark brown discharge. Is this normal ?

Brief Answer:
Likely due to implanon

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Implanon implant contains progesterone which has side effects like irregular bleeding, spotting or prolonged amenorrhea.
However, other causes of spotting like local lesions in cervix or vagina should be ruled out by proper examination and investigations by an OBGYN specialist.
I suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist for proper evaluation and treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Please do get back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
