Suggest Remedies For Severe Upper Back And Upper Arm Pain

Question: All today i've had really bad upper back pain. It hurts with pretty much any movement I make. also have bruises on my upper arms from being hit and I've been out in the cold so I don't know if that's related or not.

Hello and welcome,

I am concerned when you say you were hit. Are you in a safe place now? Are you safe from whomever hit you?

If you were hit, even in the arms, this could make your back hurt too from the force as the arms and back are connected.

First thing is to get to a safe place so that there is no further trauma.

For the back and arm pain, soak in a hot bath or shower, and consider taking ibuprofen, providing you don't have a history of problems with NSAID pain medicines. Take the ibuprofen after eating.

If this does't help adequately, consider going to an urgent care center to have your back looked at.
