Question: I am 34 years old. I am 6 feet and weighs 105 kg. For losing weight I started Jogging and walking, for last two months I started playing Badminton. For last one month I am having pain in my knee. I consulted an orthopedic he told me pain is due to ligament tear. I took medicine and taken rest for 7 days according to his advice. But when ever I play badminton I am having same pain. I don't have this problem when I go for jogging. Please suggest what to do?

Brief Answer:
Wear a Knee cap or brace

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

Since its a weight bearing joint, healing is always late.

You can continue to play by wearing a knee brace or a cap. This will not allow any jerky movements in the affected joint allowing it to heal well.

Do take good amount of protein food post exercise. It is essential for ligament repair.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
