Question: Hi Doctor,
I have recently (before 8 days) met with an accident, got a wound in my left knee (5stiches), got the stiches remove 2days back. The swelling has decreased, however there is a small clot in my calf muscle when i touch that area i feel its like a stone. How do i get rid of it? I doubt the clot may be happened because of the tight bandage that was put over the stiches.

Brief Answer:
was it diagnosed to be a clot?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

are you sure it's a clot? Did you an ultrasound scan for example which proved it? A hematoma is an alternative diagnosis. A superficial vein clot is usually very painful and you could barely touch it. The hematoma could be painful but not as much as the clot. Both heal with time. If the hematoma is too large it may leave something behind like a palpable mass that persists for long time. You'd better ask your doctor to have a look at it.

I hope you find my comments helpful!

Brief Answer:
if it's small time will heal it

Detailed Answer:
If it's only a small mass then it will heal by itself. Applying sprays won't help much. Sometimes heparinoid creams may help.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
