Suggest Medication For Whooping Cough
Question: I'm a 77 yr old widow, and just learned yesterday that this cough I've had since XXXXXXX (when I had pneumonia) is now whooping cough, which I contracted from my neighbor. I had a really bad bout of whooping cough when I was 11...66 yrs ago!..and had to be out of school for six weeks. I figured I'd never get it again, but surprise!!, I did. I have a number of conditions, one is that I have 4 stents in my right coronary artery due to myocardial infarctions. My doctor of quarter of a century moved away and I'm now being seen by a FNP so I'm a little uneasy. Do you have any input for me??

As far as treatment with AZITHROMYCIN for whooping cough is concerned, it has to be taken once a day. It should not be taken three times a day. Use it once a day and repeat the same dose at same time on next day.
