Brief Answer:
I.V Steroid therapy

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Optic nerve disease is diagnosed with-
1)Physical examination by torch light reflexes
2)Funduscopic examination
3)MRI orbits
4)VEP(Visual evoked potentials)

Treatment depends on the cause which can be a demyelinating disorder, infection, toxic, vascular or idiopathic.

In most common scenarios, intravenous steroid therapy is the treatment.Intravenous methylprednisolone is given for the 3-5 days.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,

thanks . for advice, maybe u can guide me what should be my next step, I had toxoplasmosis 9 years ago and in XXXXXXX 2015 i noticed a black spot in vision and found out it reactived I went to retina specialist and was put on antibiotics and steriods I did this for almost 4 months, I noticed vision was same and I wasn't put on Same med as 9 years ago so I went to a different retina specialist in Sept I was still only put on antibiotics and steriods then steriod drops in Oct I was told toxoplasmosis was not active, and black spot was no longer in center of vision it was in corner of eye Dr couldn't see what was causing it so he just said it would go away with time, in dec the spot came back in center when I went back to Dr in XXXXXXX I told him and he told me he was sending me to neuro optamologist because he felt it was some behind eye or brain causing this to happen, I went to neuro optamologist and now she told me it's because of scar in center of vision, the part I am lost at is that i had 4 other dr tell me the scar is above the center but would not cause me to see what I am seeing, I was also told I have a astigmatism in left eye now. they did give me glasses but words are still blurry and double vision I also get a constant pain that feels behind left eye sometimes it's worse than other times and other times the pain will goes from behind my eye to my jawline and on the side of my head, feels like something would be pulling or squeezing my eye itself

Brief Answer:
Please upload your neuro-ophthalmologist's case sheet.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I have gone through the comprehensive clinical details you have mentioned. However,it is hard for me to get what actually you mean by 'scar' and 'black spot'.These are general and not the standard medical terms. Please upload the images of the neuro-ophthalmologist's case sheet,so that I get to know about the actual lesions,in a more scientific manner. That will help me to give an opinion.

I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Brief Answer:
Please refer to an ophthalmologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

I am afraid to say that on basis of this history,I am not in a position to arrive at a diagnosis. It appears more relevant to an ophthalmologist's domain rather than a neurologist's.
I would suggest you to refer to an ophthalmologist for opinion.
