Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Opiate withdrawal can be done by gradually decreasing the amount that you take over time. In this way the body adjusts to the lower amount and discontinuation.

Depending on how much and how long you have been on opiates, a detox center may be the safest way to go about this. There they can give you medications and monitor your withdrawal.

If these suggestions aren't options for you, here are some things you can do at home:
1. Immodium - to treat diarrhea if it occurs
2. Rehydrating drinks such as coconut water (NOT coconut milk), pedialyte, etc. This is important if you have diarrhea or vomiting.
3. Antivert or Benadryl - if you have nausea. They might also help sedate you if you are having agitation.
4. Tylenol - for muscle aches.
5. Additional bed sheets that are clean - because you might sweat a lot.
6. Things to occupy your mind (movies, books, etc), especially things that you enjoy or make you happy. - this will help you stay engaged and distracted rather than feeling down.
7. A fan - for if you are hot and sweating.
8. Blankets - for if you are cold and goose bumpy.

I hope this helps. Good luck to you - sending you good wishes!
