Hello Dr.,

Thanks a lot for your immediate response to my Query. The major problem or issue with my child is that her Intake of Food Diet is very minimal so she is dependent on Soya Milk i.e. Isomil2.

Note:- As per your suggestion, i will try with Zerolac but if her body does not accept then she will have immediate Diarrhea and her body get dehydrated quickly which we need to take her to Emergency for Iv Fluids etc.

Do you still suggest the same?

Thanks

Brief Answer:
zerolac is lactose free.

Detailed Answer:
Dear sir,

please mention the correct age of your child in the query for better treatment options from our side, I would want to know the complete history as to when this lactose intolerance started,, because most of the lactose intolerance are temporary.

Secondly zerolac is lactose free , soya protein milk,, so i dont think so there will be any problem, do not add sugar to the milk formula as sugar is also a form a glucose and lactose.

Kindly write back to me with complete detailed history of your child , if you have any test reports suggesting about lactose intolerance, kindly attach them as well, thank you.

Dear Sir,

She will complete 4 years on 15th December 2014. She was born and operated for hirschsprung's disease on very next day of her Birth in XXXXXXX (India) at Rainbow Hospital.

From there onward Dr. Advice us not to give her Milk contain lactose. Suggested Isomil Soy formula.

Current Diet: Plain Rice, Wheat Roti, Suji, Apple, Carrot, Banana, Potato, Okra, Honey, Sugar

Note:- Even though she is going to complete 4 years but we are very afraid to introduce other food as she will immediately get Diarrhea and we are staying in Saudi Arabia, here there are no Specialized Children Hospital.

Every year when we go on 30 days vacation, we get her Checkup with her Surgeon and Pediatrician

Regards,

Brief Answer:
Gastroenterologist and dietician opinion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for the detailed history.
I suggest you to fix an appointment with a gastroentrologist and a dietician on your next visit for a well child check up in the hospital
The lactose intolerance is not a permanent condition,, your child will over come this problem gradually.
A dietician will be better person to guide on the food habits and slow introduction of normal diet can be achieved.
Till then follow the diet as prescribed by your doctor, avoid all dairy related products in her diet, thank you regards, hope i have cleared your query, get well soon.
Kindly follow up.

Brief Answer:
Lactose free formulations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

All the formulations I have mentioned are lactose free soya protein milk formulas, so I feel for a lactose intolerant child this should help out, but do not mix sugar to these formulations.

Kindly follow up with advice of gastroenterologist and dietician.

Thank you,

Regards.
