Suggest Accurate Tests To Measure GFR Levels

Question: My egfr is 68 with with 477 urin cr. I did this general test via blood to intially check my cholestrol and glucose level. Fact to find out i have mild chronic kidney disease, im shocked. Is this test accurate, i was dehdrated not eating or drinking 12 hours before the test would this jave affected the result? What are tests may be more accurate to determine best results, please advice im worried about this. Thank you

You recently had blood work that indicated that your GFR was low at 68. the GFR is a calculation based on weight and on the renal function in your lab test. This number is accurate but it could be impacted by your fasting for 12 hours. I would recommend before doing anything is to have the test repeat and this time not fasting and well hydrated. You may get a much better result and one that does not indict renal impairment
