Brief Answer:
Continue with Losartan.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Losartan is known as a protector of kidney function, especially of diabetic nephropathy. If your blood pressure is within the normal range under treatment with Losartan. It means that the treatment is efficient, it should be discontinued if there is a tendency for low symptomatic blood pressure.

The blood pressure for your age should not be higher than 120/80 mm/hg.

I would suggest to continue taking it if the blood pressure is normal under treatment.

I hope the information will help. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
The blood pressure is normal under treatment;

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes, you need to keep Losartan. Low blood pressure is considered under 100/70 mm/hg.

Your blood pressure is normal under treatment, if you stop taking it, it will get back to previous values. You need to keep kidney function (BUN and creatinine) also under control.

Brief Answer:
About Metformin side effects

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Yes, Metformin can cause nausea and vomiting that usually begin at the first 2 weeks of treatment. If they persist for more than 2 weeks, you should decrease the dose until no symptoms occur.

The dose you reported is high, usually 2000 mg is the recommended dose, but you should reduce it until no symptoms are reported.
You can try to increase the dose after some weeks if it is necessary.

We usually prefer ARB for diabetic nephropathy prevention that have almost the same effect. Diuretics can be necessary in a more advanced state of nephropathy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Check blood sugar and thyroid function

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

You need to check the blood sugar, the moments you have these symptoms. Metformin does not cause low blood sugar. Anyway you need to confirm that the blood sugar is over 70 mg/dl at that moment.

You need to check thyroid function also. An under-active thyroid may also cause low body temperature and shivering.

Hope I have answered your query.

Thank you.
