Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
I am Dr. R. K and I am pleased to assist you.
Abdominal distension /tightness occurs when there is fluid accumulation or increased gas or when the gastric emptying is delayed or when there is bowel obstruction.
Since he is having bowel movements, bowel obstruction is unlikely.
The whole body check up he had two weeks ago would have included ultrasound scan and I presume that did not show any fluid accumulation.
So the possible causes are increased intestinal gas and gastroparesis.
Since he is a diabetic, gastroparesis is the more likely cause.
He should keep his blood glucose under control, keep HbA1C at less than 7.
He would get symptom relief by taking
1. Ganaton Total once before breakfast
2. Enzar Forte thrice a day just before food.

Dr. R. K

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me with more questions.
Yes, ultrasound scan has to be done.
Since I did not have the option to examine him to rule out fluid accumulation, an ultrasound scan has to be done to look for fluid accumulation.
