Dear Doctor
Before you see the attachments, I have to give a short history happened .Kindly go through this.

My wife is 72 year old and a diabetic and Hypertensive with hypothyroidsm. all are well under control all these years.
recently on 7th march she has fever, cough and cold for four days.Azithral, dolo 650,MontairLc, Acebrophyllin from 7th march to 11th march.for the next 3 days she has no fever cough cold .
On 15th morning at 5 am when i went to see her on the bed, she is shivering with chills.Immeditely i gave warm water and hot pac. then the temparature is 99. she has taken a blod test for malaria, urin analysis for UTi and TSH .We are told that she has UTI. Then the doctor prescribed Augumentin 625 7 DVO for 7 days ,Dorolac for 10 days ,Dolo 650 for 5 days .Her temparature oscillating between 99 to 102 all these 4 days .the treatment is still going on.Occassional shivering and chills present .Not yet subsided.
I felt that she should take test for creatinine and blood urea and GFR.The test result shown abnormality.
my question is whether this abnormality is obnly temporary because from 7th to this date she is taking antibiotics.Does it raise the level.
Moreover she has right knee pain since 5 to 6 years and she takes Acelophenac, ultracet, ETorva ERor or other ns aids on SOS basis. She doesnt take these medicines daily. Only when there is pain she takes.

Brief Answer:
Please attach kidney function tests reports like serum creatinine, blood ur

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir, thank you for choosing healthcare magic. You have not mentioned the values of serum creatinine, blood urea and gfr of your wife. The following are few causes of raised serum creatinine and blood urea :
1)diabetes mellitus
2)hypertension
3)acute kidney injury due to toxins
4)chronic kidney disease due to continuous and excessive use of NSAIDs.
5)IGA nephropathy
6)blockage of urinary tract
7)kidney infection or pyelonephritis
8)glomerulonephritis
In your wife's case, the causes may be diabetes, hypertension and usage of NSAIDs. Though diabetes and hypertension are under control, long duration affects the kidneys.
If you can give the values, we can discuss the treatment options and we can decide if it is temporary raise.
Antibiotics that she had taken don't cause increase in serum creatinine.
We have to check if she has any obstruction to the urinary tract leading to back pressure on kidneys leading to raise in serum creatinine.
Kindly attach the kidney test reports. She may require a diuretic and we should check if protein is lost in urine. Dietary changes may be necessary.
Hope i have answered your question. Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you. Take care.
