Question: Hi,
Is there a cure for "Fibrotic Opacity"? I had TB 14/15 years back and have not had any problem since then. A recent X-Ray report says "Fibrotic Opacity" seen. I do not have any problem i.e. cough, cold, fever etc. Is there a cure for removing this "Fibrotic Opacity"?

I have read through your query in detail.
A fibrotic opacity has formed in your lungs due to TB which happened 14 years back. When you got cured of TB, the affected lung tissue got healed by scarring. Just like a scar form on the skin over any injury, similarly a scar has formed in your lungs. It is an area of healed lung tissue in the form of fibrosis.

This does not require any treatment and cannot be cured by medicines. Since you do not have any lung infection in the present, finding of fibrotic opacity in recent X ray is not significant. The fibrotic opacity will be there in the lung as long you live and is not a concern.
