Brief Answer:
Breast milk best solution to your problem

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through the details provided by you. The first thing that I would like to ask is whether the child is breast fed and if breast milk could indeed be procured. Let me emphasise upon the fact that breast milk is the best food for a baby and there could be no alternatives for the same. Milk allergy is different from milk intolerance. Generally such things are not seen in case of a exclusively breast fed infant. Most formula milks are cow milk based ad hence difficult to digest for the baby. Needless to say that if they are unable to digest it properly, diarrhoea or loose stools may result. Any sort of formula milks are not likely to be immensely helpful. I would not like to make the diagnosis of lactose intolerance just based on this. This is a very frequently abused diagnosis.

Simyl MCT contains medium chain triglycerides which help in weight gain of the child when given along with formula milk. It can be given. But please note that it is unrelated with your current problem. It will not help in reducing the problem that you are facing.

Once again, let me emphasise that I think that breast milk could be the best solution that you require. Please note that breast milk production is dependant on the sucking of the baby which is depressed if the child is fed with external milks and hence is not hungry.

Hope this helps.

Actually doctor suggested isomil or neogain... With soy based formulaI read lot of contradictions...like overdose of manganese getting deposited in organs and hence resulting in neuro disorders ... How far itz true or itz really safe to go with soy formula... With neogain am not aware of the brand itself Am really worried about both the formulas prescribed by the doc... But with simyl mct ...I have given this to my elder one

And one more thing I want to add is I was asked to stop drinking milk and diary products...He is breast feed alone till date...he passes watery or some times frothy and watery stool doc gave enterogermina and brio gut after stopping brio gut his stools were bk to watery and frothy..

Brief Answer:
Neogain or Isomil are both safe and can be given

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to answer earlier.

Isomil or soy based products are given in case of lactose intolerance. But please note that it is absolutely normal even if your child passes stool 10 times a day as is passing stool once in 10 days. If the child is exclusively breast fed, I do not think that there is any requirement to change over. In case you really decide to change over to formula milk, isomil is a good alternative and can be safely given. Although there are various concerns raised about soy based fomula, they have not been validated. So you need not worry. Hence I am not elaborating issues one by one.

Neogain is specially tailored made chicken based formula where the chicken protein is given in predigested form. Since the protein is broken into very small units, it is hypoallergenic. It is also an option that can be tried. It is safe too.

Simyl MCT is a nutritional supplement. It is not going to serve as an alternative for formula milk.

Once again I would emphasise of significance of continuing breast feeding.

Wish you all the best.
