Brief Answer:
Intercourse one to two days before ovulation and again on the day you ovulate.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to HCM.
I have going through your query.
Sperm can live for three to five days, but the egg is around for only 12 to 24 hours.
A good approach is to have sex one to two days before ovulation and again on the day you ovulate. That way, there's more likely to be a healthy supply of sperm waiting in the fallopian tube when an egg is released. As your partner has a low sperm count he may want to avoid daily ejaculation to allow his sperm counts to replenish for conception, intercourse every other day will be better.

Hope this helps.
Take care.
