Question: hello doc
i have question regarding pregnancy here it is..
Me and my girlfriend got pretty intimate on 29th august and before i cud go grab protection there was dry humping which some also call outercourse.. i am pretty sure that i did not have an ejaculation but feeling pre cum or minute ejaculation is probably difficult to say..so the thing is her menstrual cycle is a 29 day cycle and it is pretty regular.. she has her last period on 2nd august which lasted 3 days.. and we had unprotected dry humping on 29th august.. her periods were due on 2nd september i.e. yesterday but she still dint get them.. infact on 30th august about 30 hours after d physical intimacy she also took a 1.5mg ECP pill.. and a few hours before the pill there ws a cervical mucus discharge which was sticky and white.. i really am tensed and would like to know what are the chances that she is pregnant considering all the factors.. also i would like to know if chances were slim could this be an exception because we just could not have a baby at this time nor could her family know about it.. so please tell how to proceed and when would be the ideal time for a pregnancy test.. please reply asap..

Brief Answer:
There is no chance of pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
There is no chance of pregnancy.Delay in period is due to hormonal side effect of ECP, the ideal time for a pregnancy test is around 15 of September.

doctor could you be absolutely sure about she not being pregnant? i too believed so after much reading of articles online but just freaked out after reading people say that fertlization could take place even a day after intercourse and ECP's are no use after the egg and sperm have fertilized.. also i would like to know how does the pill affect the cycle and what could she do to make her period arrive faster?

Brief Answer:
Pregnancy is a very remote possibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Dry humping that too during less fertile period of the cycle followed by an emergency contraceptive almost rules out the pregnancy. The pill provides 96% protection if taken within 24 hours of sex. The pill causes a delay in cycle by 7 to 10 days if taken in the second half of the cycle. It is best to wait for the periods. Do not take any more hormonal pills to bring the periods faster.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Due to side effect of ECP.

Detailed Answer:
The bleeding she is having now is due to the effect of ECP . It will gradually subside on its own. This is not suggestive of pregnancy.

so doctor does this mean she is menstruating or is this just some random bleeding because of the ECP?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
It is a random bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
This is a mild random bleeding. Her normal periods may be delayed by a few days due to the effect of ECP.
