Is Negative CMIA Antibody HIV Test 6 Months After Exposure Conclusive?

default
Posted on Wed, 5 Oct 2016
Question: Dear Sir I had one protected sex with unknown HIV status girl on 7-8 Feb night.Initially I had no fear but after one month I had anxiety for HIV.
I shared this to one psychologist and he advised antibody test which I did on 14th March and turned up Negative through rapid card.Again I got tested on 14th XXXXXXX with same lab same method and was negative.every time I tested for hep b and hep c also which came up negative. Then again I tested on 1st August and it was negative but I requested lab to hand over me the kits. I got the kits after 8 hours and report was negative too but as I was very much afraid of I checked the kit again n again and found a very very bleak mark with no colour at testing part but lab had mentioned over kit that it is negative at 20 min. Because of fear I went to Lal path labs main center and went for CMIA antibody test on 2nd August and index was .14 non reactive. I had my last test same CMIA at Lal path labs on 6 August on 181 days of possible exposure which came out non reactive with index value .08.
Sir I need you guidance whether I should consider this conclusive negative.just to share that I had one month anti depressant also.

Brief Answer:
The result is 100% conclusive.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

Welcome to HCM.

You had unprotected sex with unknown status lady but CMIA HIV test result after 6 months is negative then nothing to worry at all because you are surely risk free and the result is also 100% conclusive.

No need to think about index value as it has not so much significance as any value below one for HIV is considered negative so allay the fear, be relaxed and move on in life. For any further query get back to me again and I am always here to help you out.

Thank You

Sir it was protected sex but not sure condom status after act.
In the mean time I also started taking alcohol to reduce my anxiety so I want to know whether alcohol or antidepressant have any impact on CMIA testing.
Can I resume sex with wife?
And sir what about that very very bleak observation on kits.
I will be thankful to you on above queries response.
Lot of regards

Brief Answer:
You can definitely resume sex with your wife.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

Welcome back and thanks for follow-up.

Don't get scared about condom status because at present you are safe and risk free from HIV as your CMIA test is negative at 6 months. The test result has nothing to do with alcohol or antidepressants so just calm down and forget about the episode.

You can surely resume sex with your wife and live the life normally because there is surely no risk of HIV in your case. As your friend I will advice you to stay away from unsafe sexual practices to prevent the future risk of HIV as well as other STDs.

Thank You

I will be highly oblized.
And thanks for your patience listening and prompt reply as today I am quite comfortable with your previous responses.

Take some multivitamins.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXX,

Welcome to HCM once again.

For fatigue and lethargy in day to day life take high protein diet along with some multivitamins and you will feel better soon. Avoid taking aprazolam along with alcohol without any fear of withdrawal issues.

Don't get tensed or stressed about the black line, it is just due to technical error nothing else so forget about all these and move on in life happily with the wife. For any further help get back to me again.

Thank You
