Question: I have been diagnosed with vertigo. I was given meclizine which make the symptoms worse. I am now having extreme panic attacks because of the vertigo. My doctor says he cant give me anything for the panic because I take 2 Vicodin a day.

Brief Answer:
ativan can be given with vicodin.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

I find no reason so as to why he refused to give ativan for panic when you are taking vicodin.

There is no serious drug interactions between the two compounds except excessive sedation in some cases.

In my opinion, ativan or klonopin can be given for panic along with vicodin.

And, if you are having panic because of vertigo, vertigo should be managed for prevention of panic. As meclizine has not worked for you, other drug options like cinnarizine (better choice as it has fewer side effects) or dimenhydrinate can be considered.

Please discuss this with your doctor.

Hope this helps.
