Is It Advisable To Discontinue Thyroid Medication?
Question: hi doctor,
I am 27 years old. we got married before 1.2 years and not having child. before 4 months we made thyroid test. it was 5.5 , so I took thyronorm 25mcg tablet. before 15days I took thyroid test again. now its become normal that is 2.4 ml. after taking follicular monitoring doctor put fertigyn 10000 injection and prescribed Duphastan tablet. now I stopped to take thyroid tablet. is it mandatory to thyroid tablet again

Yes its extremely important that you need to continue Thyronorm at low doses until you get conceived and through most of the pregnancy to sustain it.
This low dose is needed to prevent the thyroid hormone levels from falling down,even though TSH levels are in the normal range.
You most probably seem to have primary hypothyroidism,hence its important to continue thyronorm for extended periods under an expert consultation with an Endocrinologist along with the medicines prescribed to you by your gynecologist.
This can eliminate risk of any miscarriages due to inadequate levels oh thyroxine.
