Question: We are considering hospice at home care for a 90 year old women with heart failure, COPD, pulmonary hypertension and sjogrens syndrome. She is currently stable although she has recently been hospitalized for a blood clot in her lung and two in her legs. A Filter was put in to keep anymore from getting in her lungs. It seems there are many benefits to hospice what if any are the cons.

Brief Answer:
Limited medical capabilities at hospice

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX!

First of all there are limited medical capabilities at hospice compared with hospital.

Secondly if any serious life threatening events occur at home is very difficult to give appropriate help.

Hope this may be helpful.
