Is exercising harmful during pregnancy?

Question: Hi Doctor,
My wife has delivered a baby on 20th Dec 2016 by C section.
When can she start exercise and gym to reduce weight?

Yes she can start with exercise schedule now but keep it light at start and then increase in steps

Detailed Answer:
Mainly she should do cardio which will increase her Basal metabolic rate and of course help in flexible routine with baby
Avoid stretching exercises as ligaments are relaxed at this stage so will be detrimental in long run.
Avoid treadmill and cross trainer but cycling is fine.
Yoga and meditation can be done too
