Brief Answer:
Your diastolic blood pressure is slightly high

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, Hi
Good evening!
I can understand your concern.
Gone through your history.
It seems your diastolic BP i.e., the denominator 87 is slightly high.
Therefore your BP is referred to as HIGH NORMAL.
The normal BP is systolic 120 & Diastolic 80 mm of Hg (mercury).

May I know certain things like

1. For how long you have been having the same BP recordings? Any family history of high BP?
2. Your body weight
3. Your dietary habits like veg or non-veg
4. Any other medical illness

Awaiting your reply.

Best regards.

Thanks for the prompt response doctor.

1)I am having B.P in range of 120 to 140 in systolic and 85-88 Diastolic since last 15-20 days.

I would like to add here that I was a smoker and quitted smoking around a month back and am on a regular dose of Champix since last one month.

There is no family history of high B.P in my age although my mother who is 75 started having slightly high B.P after 60 which is being controlled by medicines

2)My height is 5'11'' and body weight is 92 kg

3)I am an occassional drinker(2-3 pegs once every say 7 days and am generally on a veg diet although I am a non veg

4)I was diagnosed with slightly fatty liver on a regular checkup last year but was told that it was nothing to worry.I was also having high cholestrol which is being controlled by ROSULIP-F and is normal with medications.

Awaiting an early reply

Best Regards

Brief Answer:
Your BP needs to be monitored with lifestyle changes.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX XXXXXXX XXXX,
Good evening!
Thanks for your reply & the compliment.
There is no reason to get worried about the BP right now.

In all, this can be taken as high normal. You may need to take some more readings over several days and send to me for more analysis.

Your BMI is 28.40 kg/m2, hence you are OVERWEIGHT
(Normal BMI range: 18.5 - 25 kg/m2)
You must have an ideal body weight between 60 - 80 kg.

I would advice you

1. To reduce your body weight by regular exercise, eating healthy diet (home cooked), avoiding fatty veg or non-veg meals frequently.
2. Reduce your salt intake in your diet
3. Avoid stress
4. Avoid alcohol or alcohol containing beverages as alcohol is known to have its adverse effects on heart and blood vessels.
5. Get the BP recorded after a couple of weeks.
6. Continue taking Rosulip-F for your high cholesterol and triglycerides.

Hope these suggestions will benefit you not only reducing your BP but also improving your quality of life.

Wishing you best of your health.
Kindly rate these answers if you found them to be useful.

Best regards.
