Is A Skin Lesion On Scalp Symptom Of Skin Cancer?

My son got a hair cut today and they noticed a skin lesion which my wife and I are concerned it could be cancerous.

This does not look bad. The only skin cancer which you should be afraid of is melanoma malignum. And this really does not look like one.
It might be a benign skin lesion (most probable). Skin cancer is also possible. However skin cancer, acts like a benign lesion. It grows slowly, does not give any metastases. So its really not a dangerous issue.
The best he can do is to get is removed and testes by a pathologist. As it is covered by hairs, should not be left alone as it is hard to control it.
Dermatologist consult is a good idea.
