Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: large purple bruise behind my knee after straining/pulling my hamstring 4 days ago. Hamstring seems to be feeling quite a better, but bruise has doubled in size over the last 12 hours or so.
Wore a thigh wrap today and probably walked a couple miles or so, Bruising increased soon thereafter, could I have overdone it after this injury?

Brief Answer:
It can be due to coagulation problem

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. I think it is due to blood coagulation problem. As you have history of blood clot in past.It is a possibility that at present you might had abnormal blood coagulation. I have following suggestions for you.
1. Get your BT, CT and PTT test.
2.Get a venous doppler examination.
3.Hot water fomentation is helpful.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
