Question: Hey. I had oral sex about 10 weeks ago. I had a neagtive hiv 4th generation test 6 weeks ago and I also had a neagtive hiv rna test at 6 weeks. Do I need to get retested. Also I went to the nail salon and she cut me a little bit with an electric shaver. Could I have gotten hiv from that

Brief Answer:
No risk for HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your query and understand the concern you are worried about.

You had oral sex 10 weeks ago with negative 4th generation test at 4 weeks and negative RNA PCR at 6 weeks then no need to worry at all as you are absolutely safe and free from HIV.

The risk of getting HIV from oral sex is already less as compared to vaginal or anal sex. As far as cut from electric shaver is concerned, the possibility of transmission is not there because HIV virus can't survive outside the body or in an open environment

Be relaxed and forget about the incidence because you are definitely risk free. Hope this info will help, for any further query you can get back to me.

Thank You
