Brief Answer: It will not cause harm Detailed Answer: Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day Dear Ms There is absolutely no cause for concern. When a drug is taken a longer time after its date of manufacturing, it looses it's potency and efficacy for which it is used. Toporal Xr is Metoprolol which is an beta blocker antihypertensive. Taking it after expiry , it's more likely that potency and efficacy is reduced. So it may not reduce the blood pressure to the level it is supposed to reduce. It will no cause any harm. Rest be assured there is no cause for concern. Take care Best Regards Dr T Shobha Deepak MBBS, MD
