Brief Answer:
Genital herpes and Genital Warts

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am dr.kakkar (dermatologist and venereologist). I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern.

Unprotected oral sex is a risk factor for STDs. Herpes virus can be transmitted through oral mucosa if the partner performing oral sex has a history of oro-labial herpes/ cold sores. HSV type 1 virus more commonly causes cold sores in the oro-labial region and it can get transmitted through unprotected oral sex and cause Genital Herpes infection.
Protected vaginal sex carries a risk for transmission of Genital Herpes infection (HSV type 2 virus more commonly causes genital herpes) and genital warts (HPV). Though a condom offers adequate protection against STDs like HIV, Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

Yes, you may screen for all STDs, however for herpes type 1 and type 2 virus infection, in particular, preferably 4-6 weeks after sexual contact and repeat testing at 12 weeks.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Kakkar (3 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Three days is too soon to screen for an STD

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Yes, with respect to this particular sexual encounter it would be too soon. Nevertheless you may still go for STD screening now. It would serve as a baseline screening for past protected vaginal sexual encounters.
