Brief Answer:
xylometazoline nasal overdose

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.
Otrivine adult nasal drops contain the active ingredient xylometazoline(0.1%),a decongestant. The nasal drops help relieve congestion in a few minutes and the effect of the medicine lasts for up to 10 hours.
Otrinoz(baby) nasal drops also contain the active ingredient xylometazoline
( 0.025 % w/v).Its effects are essentially local .Symptoms of a xylometazoline nasal overdose ( as it may be in case of your baby) include extreme tiredness, sweating, dizziness, a slow heartbeat, and coma.Talk to your doctor and your baby needs observation and symptomatic measures,if at all needed.

With God grace, my baby is playful at the moment after 2 hours of overdose. Should I rush to hospital and keep her there for observation or can I be observant myself at home through the night in some way?

Brief Answer:
Effect of accidental overdose minimal

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If your baby is playful the the effect of the overdose if any has weared off. You simply observe baby at home. In future be careful and don't mix up with adult drugs or drops.
