Is Miralax A Safe Laxative To Take?

Question: I suffer from somewhat mild constipation. Is miralax a safe laxative to take ?I started to take it everyday or every other day.I have bowel movement but not as much as i think I should. After most of the day I still feel like their is something in my rectum ,when I try to go more a little comes out but still does not feel like it has all come out. zi pass gas and it sometimes fee but it is like I just can't ls better. bowel movements are soft. but it feels like ia can't get it all out.. I was told i have low sodium in my Blood from drink to much water . I now drink Gator ade and not so much water.

I appreciate your concern

At recommended doses do not use miralax for more than a week. The recommended dose is 17 g in 4 to 8 oz water orally once a day.

I would advise ispaghula husk 2 tablespoon in a 250 ml glass of milk twice a day. When the stool become soft , you can reduce it to once a day and continue it. Its safe, provides adequate fiber and regulates the bowel movements very well.
