Is HIV Transmission Possible Through Body Massage?

default
Posted on Tue, 13 Sep 2016
Question: Hello doctor.
I would like you to assess this situation for possible exposure to any STD including HIV.

I went to a massage parlour. During the massage the lady rubbed the head of my penis (glans and possibly urethra) against her nipples (I was not wearing a condom). To the best of my knowledge there was no discharge (either blood or breast milk) from her nipples but for obvious reasons I cannot be 100% sure. There was no oral / anal / vaginal penetrative sex at all.

1. Please assess this situation for exposure to HIV
2. Please assess this situation for exposure to any other STD

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No risk of HIV

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.

The way you have described your exposure, and if we go with the assumption that she had no breast nipple discharge your chances of contracting HIV are nil.

Now if we consider that she had some discharge then also chances of contracting HIV are low as firstly she might not have HIV and secondarily HIV excretion in breast secretions are low.

So over all by this exposure you are unlikely to contract HIV.

Now as far as other STD's are concerned via this exposure genital warts , molluscum contagiosum can spread, but they are treatable.
So, if you get any penile warts or lesions you should see your doctor and discuss.

I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
