Posted on Tue, 29 Aug 2017
Question: Hi,

I had gone for a nude body to body massage on 17th july. The girl gabe me a full body massage while being nude. We did not have sex nor any oral sex. But we kissed for sometime and i sucked her boobs. She had rubbed her vagina against my penis. I did not put any condom during all this time. Then i did some fingering in her vagina. The finger that i used was a bit chipped off around nails and a little bit of blood had come in the morning. I got the massage in the evening. I got my hiv rna quantitative test done on 8th day and it came negative. I got my hiv duo test done on 16th day and full std profile as well. My hiv duo test is negative and i am negative on all std except chlymidia iga (its 2.3) . I am negative on chlymidia igg.

1.Is hiv duo con lusive on 16th day. Am i safe?
2.What does it mean to have chlymidia iga positive and igg negative? Do I have chlymidia?
2 . should i also get my hiv rna test done again on 21st day to rest my case?

Brief Answer:
Please see the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you writing in healthcaremagic.

Based on your history I think you shouldn't worry because there is a negligible risk to get HIV from little cut on your finger after fingering .
1. You should know that HIV duo is very accurate but usually is not highly conclusive in 16 th day and we consider the results of the 4th Generation/ Duo test test conclusive at 6 weeks post-exposure or according the CDC guideline after 12 weeks.
2.Having IgA chlamydia positive and IgM and IgG negative means that you have a suspected acute infection and in case of justified clinical suspicion
direct antigen detection should be performed and repetition of the
serology testing within 2-3 weeks.
3.In your case, based on your history I think that is not necessary to get further HIV test but if you want I suggest to do just a 4th generation test after 6 weeks post exposure as a conclusive test. HIV RNA test is not used for diagnostic purpose.

I hope my answer helps you.
Regards.

Thanks doctor. What medicines should i take to counter chlamydia and how many days does it take to cure. Also since i got chlymadia without having penetrative sex.. Is it possible that in the same way i have chances of getting hiv as well.. The virus would have travelled like the chlymadia bacteria? Attaching my std profile report, please have a look and comment.
