Question: Is Centrum 50+ suitable for a diabetic?
My husband has been recently (actually on Christmas Day) been diagnosed as a diabetic with a fasting sugar level of 16
Today's fasting reading is 12
He is also on Natrilix SR for HBP ( 2years now)

My question is this:
Are multivitamins an important part for a man who is 61 years old...has a paternal diabetic history, who also has HBP which is controlled by Natrilix SR, & who also has a paternal prostate problem history?

He is fairly active - plays 18 holes of golf 3 times a week

Another question is bread vs white boiled rice for diabetics

Brief Answer:
Yes, a diabetic can take a Centrum 50+

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

Centrum is a vitamin and mineral supplement. It works by providing extra vitamins and minerals to the body when you do not get enough from your diet.

It is suitable for diabetics.a diabetic can take a multivitamin. Actually, they have been linked to helping prevent minor infections that diabetics are so prone to.

Your husband should not use Centrum only if he is allergic to any ingredient in Centrum. There is no problem with his diabetes.

Anyway i see that today fasting reading is high.He must start with the diabetic diet,do more physical activities(if this is not containicated)and if he is overweight or obese he can start the treatement with metformine.

2.If he use whole wheat bread and replace the white rice with brown rice is better for him.
Anyway he should be careful with withe rice because it has a lot of calories.
Bread is lower in calories and carbohydrates.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
