Brief Answer:
COPD is emphysema and bronchitis or either one of them

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking,

I can understand your concern,

COPD usually is composed of emphysema and bronchitis both which means they coexist but there are also cases with COPD that have only emphysema or bronchitis.

In your case, I would recommend you to do a chest X-Ray and a Spirometry test for further evaluation of your lung situation, given the fact that you are a smoker for such a long time.

Spirometry is the test of choice to detect if a subject has COPD or not.

Hope to have been helpful to you, feel free to ask further.
