Brief Answer:
it is used in community acquired pneumonia

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the pneumonia is community acquired, meaning that you were infected in your home/neighborhood and not hospital acquired (meaning infected while in hospital for something else), then it can be used.

It is one of the antibiotics that can be used to treat community acquired pneumonia.

There are certain bacteria that are most commonly associated with community pneumonia and azithromycin is thought to be able to treat most of them.

If you are short of breath however, you should be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
You may need oxygen therapy and other intensive treatment.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
